About this video:
This was the worst woodworking mistake I have ever made. This was a custom build for a client using walnut slabs and white oak. It was a challenging project, but it was all coming together perfectly. And then...when the build was almost complete, disaster struck. I didn't give up on the project though. I hope you'll enjoy watching it all come together, fall apart and I hope you like the finished result.

I would not have a problem with a table with the center missing. It’s so wide that you’re not going to have a problem with putting the food in the middle and then the plates around the edges. I once bought a table from IKEA that turned out to be too narrow, and it was such a pain to put the food in the middle and have room for plates around the edge. Even if I did need to put something in the middle, I would just use a tray to set it on or maybe a wooden cutting board. Then I would have a good excuse to go around buying interesting looking trays lol. You could think of it kind of like putting decorative pillows on a couch, where you could make the trays or whatever you put in the middle part of the decor.

I agree that the center long piece of glass would look really good. It might even look better with some embedded brass around it. The whole thing is very cool though.

I did not feel that the one that cost $110 looked at all photorealistic. I felt the least expensive one showed more of the top of the table while also showing other views, so it looked very helpful to me as a builder and a customer. However, the most expensive one felt like it would encourage me to buy the table because it looked so very good in the environment. Also, I really dislike the glass. It feels like unnecessary edition and I don’t like the way it looks.

Thank you for the excellent video. I have a question. At about 17:40 you push the rectangles 1/8" down to recess the door tracks. When I do this I gat a solid piece, I think, but it is not a recess into the bottom panel. Any idea what I might have done wrong? Thanks.

I clicked and stayed. Even during the sponsor bit. So here you go sir, pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. And yes, I typed it all letter by letter 😂 thank you for being subtly wholesome and funny at parts. Got a wife slash business partner to run your business with* at home (I assumed it's your home garage) while another company actively "copies" your product to sell it as their own is a good flex to have in the current time and economy👍 Final edit: Splendid 😂 Final final edit: I guessed under. But I've Liked and Subscribed way earlier than the bet. Let me just go get lunch and continue watching haha. At least that company included the creator credit, if only to avoid getting sued by you. Barely. And I hope they learn to not do it again.

What I don't understand is why they did not actually pay you for the design. Like, they wanted to pay for the pieces... right??? Then why the f did they not pay for a license of your IP?!! I don't get it. What's the logic here? "Let me contact this guy, then I will steal his design after I stop replying." or "If he doesn't want to sell it, when I want to so FCK HIM!!!" - I don't know which one of those fully unhinged thought processes they went through but what the hell, man...

G’day Chris. Big fan of the channel. Just had a question re. tapered legs. Is there a way to re-inforce tapered legs to avoid needing to have a bottom stretcher? And is dominos the only way to create a joint strong enough to build tapered legs without risking them flailing out when excessive weight is applied to the top of the table? I’m trying to build a dining room table using your original spider table leg design as my inspiration….

I see you use rubio monocoat on the epoxy, does that work fine? From my experience the epoxy easily smudges and leaves marks if using a wood finish on the epoxy. I normally avoid applying wood finish on the epoxy portion then after polish the epoxy with polish made for epoxy namely Mirka polish products.

Splendid design! 1st time viewer. I've had some issues as a producer and musician with copyright. A guy stole all the master files I rerecorded for him and relkeased them without crediting me at first I allowed it to bother me then at the end of the day I realized I started getting too hung up on the fact that he stole that I lost sight of other projects.... Splendid build! I don’t know if others will agree but it would be nice to have like a 3-5 min shot of the table in the end just to be able to marvel at it and it would serve as a conclusion to the video. The few seconds that you show it just feels too short. You seem to like cinematography so nice opportunity to be creative with it :)
